Manufactured homes are built to a strict construction and safety code imposed by the federal government referred to as the HUD Code. This code changes, in parts, depending on where a particular home is to be located. Wind resistance and minimum roof loads are two primary examples of how the HUD Code changes building design based upon where the home is going to be located. Additionally, there are many available upgrades whereby your new manufactured home can have additional energy efficiency and even become Energy Star ® certified.
